Can’t He redeem these facts?

The fallout from your pain feels untenable today.

Whatever’s happened has you standing outside your own life, peering in like a shocked onlooker.

What happened? How could this happen?

This ugly set of facts.

This life-altering diagnosis.

This betrayal.

How can it ever be made right?

I won’t tell you it’s okay today; it looks and feels nothing like okay.

I’ll tell you it doesn’t end this way, somehow, some way, with our omnipotent and good Father.

If He can resurrect our bodies, can He not resurrect good for us too?

—even here, even in this?

He says He will.

He calls Himself good.

The evil and ugly and darkness you’re experiencing—His goodness is greater still.

Keep pressing into Him, dear friend.

“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” (John 10:11 NIV.)
