If I’m bent out of shape because something’s not going my way, that something’s likely out of order.
Because if that something is ordered under His Lordship, then my Peace remains unaffected by results.
If you’re straining toward something and can’t have enough, there’s likely something deeper here for you. Something you’re not finding in Him.
So be thankful when that something you’re chasing doesn’t satisfy.
—when the person or goal or progress or popularity or power is just not enough.
This dissonance, this frustration, this discontentment—can drive you right into your deep need for Jesus and only Jesus.
True peace and contentment flow from that.
When something’s not going our way, He’ll show us a better way—so we should probably quiet down and listen.
What’s not going your way today?
Thank God for how He’ll use it to take you deeper.
Then open your ears to Him.
“But godliness with contentment is great gain.” (1 Timothy 6:6 NIV.)
“Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” (Psalms 73:25-26 NIV.)
Thank you Paige, you spoke to me today. Love you, susan
