If you’re drowning in pain today—

If you’re having trouble giving God the benefit of the doubt—

Start listing the ways He’s been faithful. 

Keep your list close. 

Speak it aloud. 

Return to it daily. 

It may feel dry and mechanical at first, but the Lord has an uncanny way of meeting you in your praise and bringing you along. 

He’s the same God in the desert that He was in the garden. 

He’s the same God in the valley that He was on the mountaintop. 

He’s the same God in the quiet waiting that He was in the rich harvest. 

If pain is all you can hear today—

Get out your list of praise.

Sing louder. 

“Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—” (Psalm 103:1-2.)
