Security in Christ.

We‘ll become secure in Christ by staring at this list about as fast as we’ll become an Olympian by staring at a TV.

We need transformation. We need Jesus.

But my prayer is that this list can be a healthy check on our hearts because insecurity is a prison.

Our security in Christ has a foundational way of strengthening most facets of life.

And insecurity has an equally foundational way of deteriorating most facets of life.

Except insecurity is sneaky and slippery and looks rational and logical and right.

In many instances, the fruit of insecurity is applauded: justifiable unforgiveness, pain, envy, bitterness, grudges, criticism, resentment, competition, exclusion, fear, or control.

But just because it’s justifiable doesn’t mean it’s Jesus.

Indeed, security in Jesus will arguably counter what “feels” secure.

But insecurity is a liar that wants to be your ball and chain forever.

Don’t let it.

At the end of the day, this list merely exposes places we’re not fully trusting and submitting to Jesus.

We need Him to do the fiery work in us, but we can sure make choices that align with His Word.

I pray this list of checks are little smoke signals that send us running to Jesus and His Word because only He can make us whole and complete and free.
